It is 40 metres long and 10 m wide. It is made up of dark-coloured pebbles. It faces south, sheltered from the tramontana wind. The name comes from the reddish colour of the rocks, caused by oxidation from a spring that no longer exists.

It is 33 metres wide and 449 metres long. In its central section there is an incipient climbing dune. This beach faces east and lies at the end of a large bay bearing the same name: the Badia de Garbet. At its southern end there is a rock in the sea known, as in other places, as Cavall Bernat. In 1948 a restaurant opened its doors there, operating right on the beach for 75 years. In 2018 it stopped providing service, as its concession came to an end. Its disappearance has allowed the beach area to return to its natural state. In the northern part of the beach there had also been, until 2009, a campsite, whose space is nowadays a paid municipal car park. This beach still has a railway station, the Estació de Platja de Garbet, although it is no longer in use today. In the past it was used by bathers during the summer months. The Agència Catalana de l'Aigua carries out a weekly water quality control during the bathing season, with an excellent result.
